Frequency #2 — Nacht van de Haven
Two international artists interpret Antwerp's port and rail sensor data in back-to-back live sets.
For the second Frequency night, Sounds Like Antwerp brings in two artists whose work sits at very different ends of the generative music spectrum. DeForrest Brown Jr. — New York-based producer and theorist — builds a set from Antwerp's port logistics data: container movements, ship arrivals, cargo weight. Object Blue — London-based producer — works with the rail network data from Antwerpen-Centraal, turning timetables and platform sensors into something unexpectedly delicate. Two sets. One dataset each. Completely different outcomes. This is what it sounds like when the city works at night.
